It’s been Cold — I’m Seeking Heat
Happy New Year everyone!
It has been cold in Toronto. It has been cold outside so I am bundling up in many layers whenever I go outside. It has been chilly on the TTC as well so my many layers keep me warm there too. And it is cold at work. I have a little heater at home so I thought I could bring it in to work to warm me up. I noticed other people in the office had their heaters going, so I didn’t think there would be a problem. I turned on my heater and set it at a low setting. A half an hour later everything went off. So I had to wait in my office for facilities management to switch the fuse back on. I had no computer to work on and no heater to keep me warm. I do dress warmly….I wear a tank top, a sweater, and a jacket…and yet I’m still chilled. The next day I wore a shawl over all my layers to keep me warm. It is not good being cold all day long and the only break I get from the chill is at night when I am under many layers of blankets and kitties.
I can’t wait until summer.

What temperature do they keep the office at? Instead of having many space heaters going, wouldn’t it be less expensive to put up the heat a notch or two?
Funny, I don’t feel cold. I was walking on a supposedly frosty day(minus something) and didn’t feel the least bit cold and also walked twice as far. A lady let her dog run loose thinking no one would be out walking that day. I felt great! Our little house is so cozy that it feels summerlike. Small and a well insulated house is what you need. I don’t mind winter, especially when I don’t have to be driving in it. Maybe you should have some brandy.

I notice that we all feel comfortable at different temperature ranges: What feels cool to me is warm for you. You just have more heat than me.
Work turns the temperature down over the holidays and turns it back up when the staff return in January. They said it takes a few days for the temperature to normalize.
Brandy does not agree with me, unless it is encased in a thick coating of chocolate…then it goes down easy.
Someone advised me to eat oatmeal as it sticks to the ribs. I shall try some oatmeal.

Maybe I don’t feel the cold so much because I put on a few pounds.
Today is so mild that I am sure you will be out there enjoying the springlike temperature.

Today is a nice mild day….I will make a point of going outside … hopefully I can take a proper walk now that my toe has had some time to heal.

These days have been mild….all the snow is gone….love seeing green even though I love seeing snow, but for some reason, I get tired of white and crave green. Do you know why?
I have been outside a lot and it makes me happy but I am the most happiest when the sun is out…cold, warm or hot….I am SO affected by sunlight.
Eric is 21 now…a full grown man. So, why do I still think of him as a little child? I find this same thought with many mothers……even in their golden years….my mother still calls me baby…I am fifty.
Sorry, I got sidetracked….I hope your toe is better.
