Always Have a Napkin Handy When Eating
The week started off in a nasty way: When I took the escalator on the TTC, I placed my hand on a wet gooey, spot on the handrail. My hand had ketchup on it. Somehow someone got ketchup on the handrail. Yuck! You would think that if someone were to be eating on the run, they would also have a napkin for wiping their mouth, fingers, and handrail… should the need arise.
Perhaps a few people could use the $7 reimbursement from the TTC (to compensate for the strike days) to buy some tissues and wipes.

The thought of touching handrails and poles disgusts me and maybe those disinfecting wipes should be placed stragetically at T.T.C. locations; just like they have started placing them at the entrance of grocery stores so a shopper can wipe the handrail of the shopping cart. A few sanitary wipes in your bag is another good idea.

Yes, they do disgust me as well. But I must hold on to the handrails, especially on the TTC as a precaution against falling. I will keep wipes with me but I really wish people would clean up after themselves. We all should be responsible and do our part to keep public spaces clean. Nobody likes a mess (or do they?)

Seems like many are eating on the run. I suppose it is difficult to stop and clean up ones mess when worried about a stampede behind you.
Many who eat on the run seem to think that the ground is a favourable and appropriate place for leftovers, wrappings and such.
Yes, we “should” all be responsible in keeping our surroundings clean but alas I do not see much of that…just look around…especially those who smoke…they do not care about themselves, others or the environment.
I, personally, keep my mess with me until I find a garbage bin but then I don’t eat on the run.
I see people even empty their pockets as they walk by without a care!!!!!!Makes me wish I knew where they lived so I could throw all that back on their beds….
I wish that there were undercover litter police and if one litters then they should be forced to spend time cleaning their mess and all other litter in sight….

I eat on the run. It sounds kind of sad but I enjoy my breakfast more when I eat it leisurely on the bus instead of the mad rush in the morning when I eat my cereal at the same time as do my make-up or hair.
I have tried to stare at people who don’t pick up the trash they dump but they don’t feel any remorse. Maybe if there really was karma these people would wake up with a pile of stinky trash on their beds.
